More Catch Up Pics

Wanted to post a few more pics from the last couple of months. I think that the earliest of these go back to about the first of November"ish".

Happy baby girl

Don't quite know why I love this pic, but I think it's her eyes.

2nd Birthday

Blowing out the candles.

Christmas Morning. Lovin' on her new kitty.

Just wanted to show off the amazing stocking that my sister Stephanie knitted (or is just plain "knit" the past tense for knit? The more I think about it, the less I'm sure. I suppose that I could have looked it up in the amount of time I have spent pondering/writing about it...) for Julianna. It is so beautiful.

I know its the eyes in this one.

A little naked reading ;)

Sweet Baby Girl

Yes, she is in my bed. She ends up there almost every single night. Oh how I wish I could say she is a sound sleeper, head on pillow and all. That is hardly the case. It is a rare night that I don't wake up with a foot in my face or elbow in my back! But she looks so darn sweet and peaceful doesn't she?

February 19, 2009

Just wanted to post a few cute pics that Ryan sent me.

Wearing the hat that Poppy gave her for Valentine's. Too cute!

Just out of the bath. Look at that little mouth.

Look at the mane on this kid! She has more hair than most 4 year olds. Really.

Go Heels!!!! (No, this has nothing to do with this post or these pictures :)

Picturepalooza

Just wanted to post a bunch of pics from the past couple of weeks. So many cute pictures, so little time to blog...

Grandmama and Granddaddy got these boots for her a couple of weeks ago while we were in the mountains with them. She just loves them and wants to wear them all the time. SOOO CUTE!!!

It snowed for about 20 minutes a couple of weeks ago and J just had a blast! She couldn't quit saying "It snowin'!!" And yes, she is in her pj's in the last 2 pics. When it snows around here you have to make a run for it or you'll miss it! Hee.

Lovin' Uncle Richard's Snowboarding boots! We couldn't get her out of them.

Getting her Valentine's prezzies from G-mama and G-daddy. Did I mention that this kid LOVES presents? She totally loves ANYTHING you wrap up or put in a bag, but she always wants "more presents?!!?" I'm working on that one...

Playing with her VERY loud alphabet pal...

Out riding her tricycle in her "jewels".

Julianna is on the LNSS's (Lake Norman Stick Society) Special Stick Selection Committee and takes her job very seriously despite the fact that it is just volunteer work.

Happy Love Day!!!

Givin' my girl extra tight squeezes today! I don't get too deep into the Valentine's thing, but it doesn't hurt to stop and take a few moments to be thankful for all the love and loved ones you have in your life.

Julianna and I were lazy this morning and watched a few episodes of the Wonder Pets (a cartoon on Noggin' that she is really into these days), went out and ran a couple of errands, and then made our daily trip down to the docks to throw things (mostly rocks, but a few sticks and leaves usually too) into the lake. She NEVER EVER tires of this game and more than once I have ended up carrying her back to the house crying because she wants to throw "MORE ROCKS PLEEEEEESE".

Jules is napping now, but I am afraid her napping days are numbered. EEEEK! I am going to cling desperately to them for as long as possible though. Some days she just plays in her crib for over an hour and never falls asleep (and then is VERY grouchy by bedtime), and then some days she falls right to sleep (probably the days after she refuses to nap, right?) and sleeps for a couple of hours, but then I have a heck of a time putting her down to bed at a reasonable time. Anyone have any advice that doesn't involve scrapping the naps altogether???

A few pictures of my little Valentine from this morning:

Picking out just the right "big stick".

"Oh yeah, this is a GOOOOD stick."

I got Julianna a teeny tiny Valentine's treat. Some of those foam letters and numbers that stick to the tub (they were in the SUPER clearance aisle at Wal-Mart), which she was totally thrilled with. Speaking of letters, let me take this opportunity to brag on my girl a bit. At just barely 2, she knows ALL of her letters and ALL of their sounds. And she can do it backwards or forwards, for example "What does a _ say" or "What letter says _?". I know you are rolling yours eyes again, but I just can't help myself. Hee.

Favorite Birthday Pic

Julianna turned 2 during my blog break (December 18th), so I never posted any of her birthday pics. I think this one is my favorite.

Lovin' her new Elmo!

February 10, 2009 - Inaugural Post

Hmm.... I'm not sure where to begin. I want to give this blogging thing another shot. It's been a long time and I have had intentions to return to blogging for months (I know, my road has long been paved...) but somehow just didn't have the heart to start back on the old page. As most of you know, there have been a lot of changes for our family in the past several months. I think I will leave it at that for now. I think that part of the reason that I haven't had the courage to begin this again is that I don't quite know what to say about, well everything. So I think I will just talk about my girl and save the rest for another day.

Julianna continues to be the sweetest, funniest, most darling child ever. There is never a dull moment. She is an absolute chatterbox and cracks me up even when she isn't trying to - which can really make her mad!!! She has a clear idea of when you are laughing with her and when you are laughing at her. She is starting to test me quite often and definitely has an ornery glint in her eye a good lot of the time! I know that I should take her discipline in hand here pretty soon, but most of the time I find my self laughing at her antics and can't quite find the solemnity that discipline requires. Oh well, I suppose there are worse things in this world than a spoiled child. For the most part, despite my shortcomings as a parent, Julianna is sunshine and light. She loves her parents and grandparents and aunts and uncles (and honorary aunts and uncles too). She is incredibly affectionate (the absolute BEST hugger) and laughs easily. She goes to a little music class once a week and loves to dance and sing and play with the other kids. She is just moony for the little girls who are about 5 years old. They think she is darling and she thinks they are rock stars! She is super bright (are you all rolling your eyes yet?) and amazes me with something new every single day. She is the greatest and there is not one single day that goes by that I don't realize that despite all the "stuff" going on, I am truly the luckiest mama on earth.

So, I think that I will just post a couple of pics from the last couple of weeks rather than try to take on catching you up on the last several months. I may try to go through and post some older pics at some point, but I am afraid that if I bite off more than I can chew I will never get this thing going. So without further ado....

Playing the harmonica!

Picture that Ryan took. She looks 5 in this pic!

Julianna LOVES, LOVES, LOVES her kitty!!!!

Watching the skiers on Beech Mountain (right down the road from Granddaddy and Grandmama's mountain house). She was fascinated by the people flying by on the chairlifts! By the way, the beautiful hat she is wearing was knitted by her Great Grandmother Fox.

On the porch.
