We had a very busy and really nice week! Auntie (my sister, Stephanie) was in town last week. Julianna hadn't seen her since Christmas but remembered her instantly and ran up to her, gave her a big hug and put her head on her shoulder. It was so sweet, I almost cried. Anyway, Stephanie's visit was WAY TOO short and I am trying to convince her to come back for another visit before she starts teaching again in the fall ;)
Snuggling with Auntie on the porch.
Julianna and I spent Saturday with our good friends Louise and Bill. We went out on their boat, came home for lunch, and then J, Louise, and I hit their neighborhood pool. J just LOVES Bill. If he leaves her sight she starts asking "Where Bill go?". If you tell her that he left for a while, she puts her head down and pouts! On the way over, I told Julianna that we were going to Louise's house. She promptly told me "It Bill's house too."
Julianna and Bill playing on the computer a couple of weeks ago. He endlessly, patiently looks at pictures of animal after animal with her. He's going to be the greatest dad!
Quick story - While in the baby pool a little boy was relentlessly splashing us with a little kick board thingy. Julianna thought it was hysterically funny and laughed and laughed. She complimented him on his skills by telling him, "Good splashing, boy". Not sure if that came off as cute in the telling, but trust me, it was super cute!
This morning I took Julianna over to our neighborhood pool (That's where pics are from. I forgot my camera on Saturday, which was a real bummer because J was super cute in her baseball cap and lifejacket). Then this afternoon after her nap I took her over to Ryan's for the night. I am missing her to pieces!
Another quick story from Ryan - Julianna loves to play in the yard with the dogs at Ryan's. Last week she was continually asking Ryan to go play in the "ard". Ryan kept telling her repeatedly that it was a "y-y-yard not ard". This evening she asked Ryan if they could play "in the y-y-yard"! Hee. So now my kid thinks that's how you're supposed to pronounce it! She also evidently sat down and hugged our lab mix, Cally and said "Cally and Jewynanna are best friends". Awwwww!
Ok, enough rambling. Here are the pics from today.
Is it really fair for a 2 year old to have lashes like this?!? She will be thanking her dad big-time for them in a few years.

Oh my, do I ever love this girl! She is just getting cuter, and sweeter, and funnier, and chattier, and snugglier (I know, not a word), and smarter, and louder, and sassier, and becoming more and more of her own little person, every day. I am the most blessed mother alive.

Pictures, Finally!
Ok, get ready to start rolling your eyes - I want to brag on my girl a bit. She is so super smart (and absolutely the sweetest child on earth)! She not only knows her letters and their sounds, but she also can read about 15 or so words. She knows them by sight, but if you tell her to sound one of those words out, she knows what you want her to do - and does. She also has an impeccable sense of direction - which she definitely didn't get from me, or from her dad, for that matter. She can tell me where to turn to go all sorts of places. If I ask her where the grocery store is, she will say "this way" and point. She is ALWAYS right - even coming from different directions. Today, we were stopped at a gas station and she said "Mcdonalds is this way, and dragon (a little mechanical thing she likes to ride at the grocery store - see picture below) is this way" and pointed in opposite directions. She could see neither place from where we were, and by golly, she was right! Yes, it's a bit embarrassing that my 2 year old knows where/what Mcdonalds is - but she loves fries! She doesn't eat much (seriously, if it weren't for milk and multi-vitamins, this kid wouldn't have survived her first 2 years), so if she asks for fries, I find it hard to refuse. Oh, and there was a giant inflatable snowman down a side street in front of a tree stand at Christmas. She will still point down that road and say "snowman", even now. Its kind of nuts! Anyway, I have a hard time finding my way out of a paper bag, so I am amazed by this sort of thing!
You can all stop doing that pretend gagging thing now! I just want to remember these things, and since I don't do any sort of scrapbooking or baby-booking (just NOT crafty), I guess this blog sort of serves that purpose for me.
Here are the tons of pics that I have taken since the last time I posted. Julianna is finally feeling better and if I never wipe another snotty nose, it will be FAR, FAR TOO SOON! Yuck, I just hate snot! It actually makes me gag sometimes. I'm not sure what makes it so much more objectionable than other bodily fluids, but it just is! Anyway...
Jules is pretty cautious by nature, but she LOVES to climb! She is getting braver and braver, while I am getting more and more nervous and neurotic! Funny how that works, huh?
Sweet, sweet sleeping angel-baby.
More climbing.
Playing in sofa cushion tent at Weezie's. Who didn't LOVE a sofa cushion tent?!!
What a mess of a child!
Mother's Day Pics
The above-mentioned Harry the Dragon.
Getting a just-because present! To be honest this little teddy was like $2.50 on the 75% off table at Barnes and Noble - but if you put anything in a gift bag she thinks it's a great and wonderful present!
I think she likes him.
Julianna and her little friend on Thursday. They just waded around on the steps of the pool. When asked if the water was too cold (YES it was!), they kept saying "Not bad...". Hee.
She just loves to play in boxes. She took her pillow and a sheet and crawled right into this one. SO cute!

Julianna and I spent last weekend with Granddaddy and Grandmama (Ryan's parents). We went to a little "Strawberry Festival" where Julianna rode her first horse ever! This wasn't a pony either. It was a great big ole horse. She didn't seem to be a bit scared at first but when the guy walked the horse past me so that she couldn't see me anymore, she started to get a bit nervous. I ended up riding the horse with her for the last bit. Everytime she would see Elaine she would scream "Grandmama, I ridin' a horsey!!!" It was sooo cute!
Pictures from last weekend (and a couple from the rest of the week):
Hanging out at Grandmama and Granddaddy's.
She looks SO tiny on that giant horse!
At the festival they also had a bee hive enclosed in glass. You remember how terrified our little one is of bees, right? Well she seemed to understand that the bees couldn't get out and really was fine.
She does look a bit nervous in this pic though, doesn't she?
At a really pretty little park we went to on Sunday. Jules loved this fountain!
In the tree.
Chatting with Granddaddy.
Wearing Grandmama's sunglasses.
Snuggling with "Dozie".
