January 15, 2011

I know I still haven't posted any Thanksgiving, Birthday, or Christmas pictures, but wanted to go ahead and post these snow pictures before they get lost in the shuffle of endless holiday pictures. It snowed a good 6 or so inches and then it rained for a couple hours which created this very hard and slippery snow. Julianna was at Ryan's when the storm came up and was stuck there for 3 days. I think they had loads of fun building a snowman (and pics you can send me, Ryan?) and having snowball fights and the like. By the time she got back here it was almost pure ice. So, I took Jules out for some real red-neck fun. I pushed her around the icy streets in a laundry basket! We also did a little ice skating in our boots. She had the most fun, and it didn't cost a dime!

Yeehaw!

I know this looks like snow, but it has a layer ice on top that could not be broken unless you actually jumped on it! Jules LOVED skating on it. It really was pretty fun!

Slithering around on her stomach like the snakes she is currently so fascinated by. She told me that she is "smelling with her tongue, like snakes" in these pictures!

More ice skating fun!

I took this one last night and just threw it in because it's cute!

Julianna's Eyes

I know that I have SOOO much catching up to do!! The holidays (Thanksgiving, J's b-day, and Christmas) have been so incredibly busy and on top of that, I lost (and found) my camera, borrowed both my dad's and Ryan's camera in the interim, and got a new camera for Christmas that actually didn't come until the first of Jan. This means I have 4 different cameras to download pictures from and then organize. I'm not quite there, but hopefully will be in the next couple of days. Anyway, people who have been reading this blog since the beginning probably know that Julianna used to have the bluest of blue eyes until she was 2 and a half. Then they just changed to green. They were amazing then and are still amazing. Just saw this recent picture and thought it would be neat to have this comparison in the future.

Julianna at 13 months old

Julianna at 4 years old. Not the greatest over all picture of Jules, but it does almost do justice to her lovely GREEN eyes.

Ok, just a couple more from Discovery Place with Auntie Stephanie:

Help Mary Cake!! Auntie and Julianna can't figure out how to use this microscope on their own!

Driving the fire engine.

Crafts with pipe cleaners! Wow did she ever have fun with these. I'm definitely going to have to buy them in mass quantities!

Conversation between Jules and I:

Julianna: Where's my baby?

Me: I don't know. Did we leave her in the car?

Julianna: I think so.

Me: (in exasperated tone) I guess I'll have to go all the way back out to the car to get her.

Julianna: Bummer...

I laughed all the way out to my car! This kid is three going on 13!

Just some cute pictures I took at Ryan's a couple weeks ago directly after getting pictures taken:

Julianna and I went to the birthday party of a little friend of hers. She had a great time and it's fun to see her interact with kids that she has actually developed friendships with over the past couple of years.

This is the first time I have done her hair like this. It didn't come out exactly like I had hoped, but still cute, no?

Julianna and the birthday girl.

Jules and one of her bestest and "oldest" friends, Riley.

This was seriously the most organized birthday party we have ever been to. Jewel's mom set up three stations, each filled with crafts. So much fun!

Jules with the little guitar she decorated.

Playing parachute! I used to LOVE when, in elementary school, we had parachute day in gym class. I don't know if it really was, but in my memory, that sucker was as big as the entire gym!

I love, love, love this pic! My girl is just filled with joy!!

After getting home from Jewel's birthday party, Julianna decided that we MUST throw a party for one of her dolls. Yes, this included Jules wearing a party dress too! She was a little disappointed that the earlier party was a "play clothes" party. She really wanted to wear "a VERY beautiful dress"!

A stuffed spider for the birthday girl, who is wearing a matching dress!

Back to Discovery Place:

She's a fancy kayaker, just like Poppy!
