All Hallows' Eve Eve

Ryan had Julianna on Halloween again, mostly because Jules REALLY wanted to go trick-or-treating with Aaron. Even though Halloween isn't at the top of my list of Holidays, I was a little bummed. But the afternoon before Halloween we lucked into a Halloween festival at a church down the road from my parents' house. We had the greatest time! We didn't have a costume or anything, but Mimi said,"Let's go to the house and throw something together". That we did. She was a big ole mess, but really cute. Actually we put her in a dress that I wore for Halloween when I was three. I was Little Bo Peep (I'll have to scan a picture at some point), so that's who we told Julianna she was, even though she didn't have any of the accoutrements (most importantly, a staff) that I did. In retrospect, she looks more like Anne of Green Gables than Little Bo Peep! Whatever! Anyway, this festival had hay rides and bouncy houses and tractor-pulled "train" rides for the little ones and trick-or-trunking. We ran into one of Julianna's best little friends so that made it all the more fun! I think it was my best Halloween ever!

By the way, this dress came almost down to my feet when I was 3! Also, yes, those were the only socks I had! And it was chilly and those are the only leggings or tights I had with me. Like I said, she was a big ole mess!!!

Her first of MANY rides on this little train. She would have just stayed on the thing all night if we would have let her!

Julianna and Riley. SOOO CUTE!

Thrilled with her lollipop ghost!!

Checking out her loot!

Here are some of the pictures that Ryan sent me along with the note he sent with them. I hope he doesn't mind me sharing:

Juls had the best time trick or treating, she was so happy and excited the WHOLE time. And I cannot tell you how unbelievably cute, sweet, and adorable she was - absolutely precious. I do believe she was the prettiest little thing I've ever seen in my life, seriously.....

Carving her tiny pumpkin she chose at the preschool pumpkin patch.

I think it is a kitty?

SOOO cute!

Love it!

Pumpkin Patch

On Thursday I went with Julianna and her class (all the parents were invited) to the little pumpkin patch across the street. It was so much fun to see her interact with all of her little friends. Good gracious 3 and 4 year olds are so stinkin' cute!

With her 2 besties at school. Yes, Jules is freakishly tall and is darn near a head taller than most of the kids in her class. I swear she is still only 3.

Julianna and another of her good friends listening very intently to the story being read.

And just to illustrate how long this kid's legs are... Look at the above picture. She and Raella look almost the same height sitting down. Now look at this picture of the 2 standing up on pretty level ground.

Love it!

Discovery Place Kids

On Wednesday Mimi, Julianna and I went to a newly opened museum for kids. It was fantastic and I look forward to spending many winter days there with Julianna. There are tons of little vignettes, each with their own little theme. There was a little veterinarian office, grocery store, restaurant, farm, airport, fire engine, etc. We ran into a little friend of Julianna's from school and they had the greatest time playing together. So cute!

I was trying to put her in jeans, but she wasn't having it so we ended up with this emsemble. Oh well, she looked pretty stinkin' cute!

Julianna's very favorite part was this little veterinary office. We stopped by this little exhibit several times and we practically had to pull her out of there when the museum was closing.

On the fire truck

She's already a seasoned boat driver with all the time she has spent behind the wheel of Poppy's boat!

Getting all the items on her list at the little grocery.

Julianna and Lucas. Couldn't you just eat him up?!

Team work!

My favorite was this little restaurant! It was darling!

Making our salads.

There was a great big stage in the middle of the place. Jules found a friend, as always, and they put on many fantastic shows for us! They mostly consisted of changing hats and walking across the stage. Hee!
