A Few Pictures

Just wanted to drop off a few pictures.

Getting ready to leave for dance class in her Halloween sweater!

New moose from Mimi.

Practicing her "shuffle step" after class.

In time out! I doubt the parenting experts would recommend that you take pics of your kids while you are disciplining them, but she just looked so dang pitifully cute!!!

October 4th, 2009

So many pics today, so I will keep it short. We had another great week. Our friends Louise and Baby John came over on Tuesday after dance class. Julianna ADORED Baby John and hasn't stopped talking about him since. She just talked to him and showed off to him and was just so sweet. I really think that they will be friends for life. And seriously, he could NOT be any cuter!

Both Dada and Mimi were sick this week, so it was pretty much Jules and I on our own. It was wonderful, but I am tired! That girl will wear you out! The weather here was AMAZING (in the 70's), so we spent alot of time at the playground and wandering around campus. We also went to the library for music hour, a fall festival (also at the library), and of course her wonderful dance class. Her best little girl friend's 3rd birthday party was last weekend also. She had a great time, but was even more shy than usual until the 7 year old sister of one of the little girls there took her under her wing. It was precious. She said to Julianna, "I know I look big, but I'm just a little girl like you." and that was it. They were fast friends for the rest of the night. Such a SWEET kid! I just wanted to take her home with me!

Ok, couple really quick stories, then moving on to pics.

****************

We saw a very pregnant Heidi Klum on television.

Me: There is a baby in her tummy. Did you know that you were once a teeny tiny baby and were inside my tummy too???

Julianna: I can't believe that!

********************

Ryan said that they were talking about a dinosaur (a Struthiomimus) and he asked her what it ate.

Julianna: Little animals and plants.

Ryan: That's right. What kind of little animals do you think it ate?

Julianna: Maybe porcupines and dolphins??

Hee!!!!

Julianna LOVES stickers SOOO much. She was in heaven when they were doing this little sticker craft at Riley's party.

Hey, where'd everybody go? She was BY FAR the last kid working on her craft. I had to shut her down after all the other kids had moved on.

Sitting on her friend Maddi's lap during the opening of the presents.

Getting ready to leave for dance class.

One of the best parts of dance class are the dinosaurs toys they have in the parents' room!

She just loves to "balance" on this wall outside our condo.

Geez, could someone get that kid a barrette or something?!

Holding a baby for the very first time! Julianna was in heaven. Baby John doesn't look too sure! Hee. Love the way she has her hand on his head in this pic. So cute!

One of my VERY favorites this week.

More pics from the beautiful Davidson campus. We feel so very lucky to live less than a half a mile away.

Music class at library.

Fall festival at library.

Edit- Ryan pointed out to me that it looks like J is smoking a cig! It really does. Just sucking on a lollipop!

At the playground.

P.S. More pics in below post.

Julianna

Took all these pics in less than 15 minutes. I don't know, I think that they really demonstrate the many facets of my girl's personality - serious, happy, silly, ornery - so very sweet! Love them all.

September 24, 2009

Another busy week! Pretty much same schedule as last week. Dance class on Tuesday. Story hour and play date on Wednesday. Music class on Thursday.

She did really great again in dance class. She listened to directions extremely well and even encouraged a little girl who was having a hard time being away from her mother by offering her her hand. SO CUTE!! In fact, her teacher actually came to me after class and said that she wanted me to consider advancing her to the 3 year old class. That class doesn't work with our schedule, so she's going to stay put, but it was nice to hear that her teacher thought that she was capable. See, maybe she wasn't just sucking up last week ;)

Just a couple of stories and then pics.

************

Julianna's favorite thing in the world to do right now is play the game Memory, or what she calls "Match Game". She is SOOO good at it too! Seriously, she can beat me and I don't even have to throw the game. She really can remember where she saw something from the beginning to the end of the game. After soundly beating me, she said, "Mama, I sure am a GREAT match gamer!"

************

Julianna woke up in the middle of the night the other night and called me to her room. I went in and after picking up her baby that she "dropped" on the floor, she asked, "Mama, can I get up now?" I said, "No Julianna it's still nighttime. You can get up in the morning." I could just see the wheels turning in her head. She looked at me, smiled, and said in her sweetest voice, "Good morning Mama!" and then in order to see if her scheme worked, put her arms out to me to pick her up. She a wily one!

**********

We were collecting acorns at the Library (They have a lovely garden on the premises) after music class today and I pointed out a big acorn I spotted. Julianna was thrilled and said, "That's a BIG, FAT HONKER!" What?? I'm pretty sure I've never used that expression. I guess she got that one from Daddy. It was super cute though!

Look at the fancy Dinosaur shirt! Julianna, Mimi, and I were looking at it in the store and Julianna said, "I love this shirt". That was all it took. Mimi was in the check out line before you could count to 3. Man that is one spoiled kid!!

Playing computer games at the library.

Pictures before class on Tuesday. Wish I could get some during class, but they don't let us mother's in!

Silly Goose!

At the library before class today with a couple of her little girlfriends.

Dancing.

Dancing with scarves.

Playing the sticks.

No, my kid is not flipping me the bird :) They are singing the "Where is Thumbkin" song.

In the garden after class.
